Yep, you read that correctly. The Incentive Lab took on the Grammy’s and it was…incredible.
Our wonderful Account Manager, Jess, was lucky enough to be a part of a once-in-a-lifetime experience hosted by LA Tourism where a lucky group were shown around LA’s hot spots, as well as all the changes happening to the downtown LA area. This also including attending the Grammy’s, for research purposes of course…
Fuelled by jealousy, we asked Jess about her recent adventure…
What was your favourite experience on your trip?
The Grammys of course! But other highlights were also hiking to the Hollywood sign (we had a fantastic and knowledgeable guide), and doing an eating and walking tour through Venice. The walking tour through the West Hollywood “Rock n Roll” hotspots and the dinner at The Line Hotel (best tuna tartare!!!!).
What did you learn from your trip?
This was my first time to LA so I learnt a lot about the destination and got to see some fabulous hotels that were outside of the main large hotel brands.
Where was your favourite destination?
I loved Santa Monica and Venice Beach!
Where was your favourite accommodation?
We saw so many amazing hotels! We stayed in The Line hotel in Koreatown and the Kimpton in Hollywood, both were beautiful properties. I think my favourite however was the last hotel we saw in Santa Monica, the Santa Monica Proper Hotel. The view from the rooftop bar was TO DIE FOR.
If you could use 3 words to describe your trip – what would they be?
Whirlwind! Fascinating and delicious.
How was the Grammy’s experience
Definitely not what I expected, it was more like going to a concert in a ballgown! They only gave out about 7 or 8 awards on the evening, the rest were given out during the day. It is very much designed for TV, during ad breaks they play past Grammy’s performances on the screens and everyone just mingles. There were so many amazing acts on the evening, I think my favourite was Usher’s Prince tribute, he really did an amazing job. I think this would be a fantastic option for an Australian group as it is quite unlike anything we have here.
